Caring for someone else’s home and pets comes with real responsibility. That’s why we partner with specialist insurance providers rather than offering a one-size-fits-all platform policy.
Depending on the cover you choose, your insurance belongs to you, not just one booking or website, giving you greater flexibility and peace of mind wherever you care.
We’re more than a house and pet sitting platform.
The Guardians Tribe was created to build trusted relationships between Homeowners and Guardians through responsibility, flexibility and genuine human support. It’s a different way of connecting people who value care over convenience.
The Guardians Tribe is a global mutual exchange house and pet sitting community connecting Homeowners with verified Guardians. Homeowners provide accommodation in return for a Guardian’s time, presence and responsible care of their home and animals, with no remuneration involved.
We are a family-run, community-led platform built around trust, clear communication, appropriate insurance and meaningful connection. Our aim is to help Homeowners and Guardians find responsible, well-matched arrangements while providing the verification, safeguards and human support needed to make more informed decisions.
A Homeowner welcomes a Guardian into their home while they are away, and in return the Guardian provides their time, presence and responsible care for the home and pets. No remuneration is paid to the Guardian.
Homeowners and Guardians connect through The Guardians Tribe, review each other’s listings, communicate directly and arrange video calls before deciding whether the stay is right for both sides. The aim is a fair mutual exchange built around clear expectations, trust and responsible care.
No. The Guardians Tribe does not charge booking fees when a Homeowner and Guardian agree a Guardianship stay.
Members pay their chosen annual membership fee to access the relevant platform features, but there is no additional fee each time a stay is confirmed. Guardianship stays are based on mutual exchange, and The Guardians Tribe does not take a commission or percentage from individual arrangements.
Yes. Guardians must complete ID verification before their listing can be approved and made live on The Guardians Tribe. This adds an important layer of accountability and helps create a safer, more trusted community.
Verification is only one part of building trust, so we also encourage Homeowners and Guardians to communicate directly, arrange video calls, ask questions and make sure they feel comfortable with each other before agreeing to a Guardianship stay.
Yes.
Guardians are required to hold appropriate pet-sitting insurance and provide evidence of their cover for verification by The Guardians Tribe. Where verified, their profile also shows the geographical area their cover applies to.
Homeowners are required to complete a Property & Insurance Declaration before their listing can be approved. This confirms that they are authorised to arrange the stay and have checked any property, tenancy, lease, landlord, mortgage or insurance requirements that apply to them.
Homeowners remain responsible for checking that any home, contents or other insurance they rely upon remains appropriate while a Guardian is staying at the property, including contacting their insurer where required. The Guardians Tribe does not verify individual Homeowner insurance policies or determine whether a particular stay is covered.
The Guardians Tribe keeps membership simple and affordable. Homeowner and Guardian memberships are £25 per year, which works out at less than 50p a week, while Dual Membership is £35 per year for those who want to use the platform as both a Homeowner and a Guardian.
That gives members full access to the platform for an entire year for less than the cost of a coffee each month.
Yes. The Guardians Tribe is a global community, and Guardians can connect with Homeowners in different countries for mutual exchange Guardianship stays.
For international stays, members are responsible for making sure they meet any relevant travel, immigration and entry requirements. Guardians should also ensure their insurance covers them in the country where the stay will take place. Where we have verified a Guardian’s insurance, their profile shows the geographical area their cover applies to, helping Homeowners and Guardians make informed decisions before agreeing to a stay.
The Guardians Tribe is a smaller, family-run and community-led alternative to larger house and pet sitting platforms. We focus entirely on mutual exchange, with an emphasis on trust, responsibility, verified members, appropriate insurance and real human support.
We do not charge booking fees when a stay is agreed, and we show where a Guardian’s verified insurance covers them. Members can also access training and qualifications, community support and our Stay Match Promise.
We are not trying to be the biggest house and pet sitting platform. We are building a trusted global community where Homeowners and Guardians can connect more personally, make informed decisions and feel supported throughout their journey.
